They had a conscious intent to build tolerances into their society in Leiden, instituting separation of church and state.
This seems to be the reason why did the Pilgrims traveled to Leiden ...to remove themselves from persecution by traveling to where there was the desired separation ...of church and state.
There are many different views why they later traveled to the New World ...but let's not travel there. Let's travel back to the first separation.
The first separation was when Lucifer convinced a third of the angels to go against God. But, more on that later ...as breaking news is coming in.
"Some clay minerals are made up of distinct silicate layers. Between these layers some free space may exist in the shape of channels. Smaller hydrocarbon molecules can be accommodated reversibly within these channels. This phenomenon is used in some technical separation processes for separating hydrocarbons (molecular sieves). Furthermore, ion-exchange processes used for water deionization are based on similar minerals." ---this all is discussed in the section describing compounds formed by the inclusion of molecules, which we see also involves separation to achieve it.
I don't understand this much at all. I will try to get back to what I feel is more clear to me. Though some people refer to us as clay in a potter's hands ...we must more simply look at who molds us. Instead of studying the 'ion', rather focus 'on I' ...and who I am. Yes, I also can be charged positively or negatively ...and that has much to do with what I believe, so it seems to have some affect upon you and me. (Now, back to the Lucifer note ...)
And I do see how the righteousness of God ...involves separation by way of inclusion. Adam and Eve, the two of them, were together separated in the Garden of Eden. We read of the Tree of Life, and we read of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil ...both in the Garden of Eden. But, we also read of the inclusion of a certain creature who was allowed access ...who attempted to influence 'choice', and was at that point successful in giving them a 'charge' against them.
Man and woman continue to make choices that limit how God is included ...which brings about more separation, called sin. Yet, though we sin more when we exclude consideration of God, we are not merely separated by our separation (sin) ...but, by failure to acknowledge that we are separated. To fail to acknowledge the separation is to claim there is none. And to claim there is none ...is to propose no difference, nor need for a future separation. That would also seem to mean that we would not be supportive of the past separation of Lucifer and the third ...and would that also mean that we stand in agreement with Lucifer in the unfairness of it?
Jesus came to be our choice ...to provide a dividing of truth, and a separation. That separation will be complete when the enemy of God is removed.
When Jesus came over two thousand years ago, many expected this to happen at that time. Many welcomed the message that brought victory to their heart, but still others wanted victory the way they saw other kingdoms achieve it.
We are still looking for this final separation, but as I read the Bible ...it seems that the very thing many wanted to happen over two thousand years ago, will be welcomed when it finally comes. The way I read it, the defeats of the enemy will come by the hand of deceit.
As I read it, the trust of many will be obtained by the enemy doing away with evil ...as many see it to be.
The true witnesses do not stay silent at this time, which brings about a revival. Then, after much extensive revival has taken place, the challenge comes to the forefront. Do we want to be protected by the powerful and have all those who threaten our safety and security to be put in check ...or do we want Jesus?
Persecution takes place ...yet, the end result is that the power of Jesus will soon provide both truth, and safety & security.
Selah.(Best to pause and reflect, but for those who feel it means delete ...the final delete of evil is after the thousand year reign, following a very decisive battle.)
